FRESH Video: DJ Dusk's Root Down - SOUNDCLASH

It took awhile for this DVD to finally get pressed up and released on a national level. This is a must watch for the fans of live beats from HIP-HOP's elite producers (Madlib, Cut Chemist, Oh No, Thes One, Will.I.Am., and Exile. FRESH Album of the Day: Natural Self - The Art of Vibration

To be honest, I have never heard of this guy until today. I was surfing around on eMusic's "My Dozen" suggestions by Mr. Scruff. It was number one on his list so I took a listen. It was right up my steez of music. Funky, dark, abstract, but head bobbing beats that make you feel good. But yeah I'm gonna marinate on this album over Turkey and the driving this weekend. Sorry, I can't seem to find any of the stuff streaming anywhere...

FRESH Album of the Day: DJ Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz Vol. 6

Mark Farina does it again. It has been some time since his last release of this critically acclaimed downtempo compilation. I've been a fan of the Mushroom Jazz series since day volume 1. I feel that this album is a must have if you're into the loungy, jazzy, funky beats that keep you bobbin your head each track. One of those records that you can just play and listen through easily.

FRESH Movement: Poreotix/Poreotics Popping Crew

This trio of dancers from the LA area are sweeping the dance scene quickly. They are comprised of talented dancers from Sickstep (as seen on America's Got Talent) and CSULB PAC Modern. You can see an influence by the popping crew, U-MIN, but they definintely bring their own sense of originality to the table. They've recently performed at the World of Dance Tour in the Bay Area and won at the Maxt Out Competition in October 2008. This is a crew that you can't sleep on. If you are into dope sychronized popping with a little youth and urban flare, POREOTICS, is the crew to support!
